The reachability checks are measured, not estimated: ping, traceroute and MTR run from real probe locations around the world, the TCP port check opens a connection from the Mutqan server, and the DNS benchmarks time real resolvers. Each page says exactly where its measurement was taken from and what that vantage point can and cannot tell you.
