Can PDF pages be merged, split and reordered without changing their content?

Yes. ISO 32000 stores a document's pages as a tree of page objects, each pointing at its own content stream, fonts and images. Merging, splitting, extracting, reordering and rotating are edits to that tree — a rotation is a single /Rotate entry of 0, 90, 180 or 270 — so the page content is copied or re-referenced, never re-rendered, and text stays selectable and searchable. What can change is the document-level data around the pages: bookmarks, links between pages and form fields that referred to a page that was removed.

Frequently asked questions about Split PDF

How do I write the ranges?

Separate the parts with a semicolon or a new line and pages inside a part with commas: "1-3; 4-6; 7-" makes three files, the last one running to the end. "even", "odd", "first" and "last" are understood too.

What does "split by size" do?

It fills each part with whole pages until adding the next page would exceed the size you set. Pages are never cut, so a single very large page can still exceed the target.

Do I get one download or many?

Each part is listed with its own Download button, and "Download all" gives you a ZIP with every part.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The file is opened and processed by your browser with WebAssembly and JavaScript; nothing is sent to Mutqan Soft or anyone else. Close the tab and the file is gone. Downloading the result needs a free account — no subscription, no payment.

Can I use it on a password-protected PDF?

Yes, if you know the password: the file list asks for it once and every operation then works on the decrypted pages. The output is saved without a password unless you protect it again.

Technical notes

Each part is a fresh PDFDocument that receives copied pages, so unused resources of the other parts are not carried along. "Split by size" adds pages one by one and measures the serialised size after each addition, closing the part before the limit is crossed; a single page larger than the limit becomes its own part.
