Excel to PDF

Runs in browser PDF Conversion

Each visible sheet becomes a titled table in the PDF, with the header row repeated on every page, bold cells kept, numbers right-aligned and Arabic sheets set right-to-left. Wide sheets switch to landscape automatically. Charts, images and conditional formatting are not rendered — the values and formula results are.

What is inside a DOCX or XLSX file?

A .docx, .xlsx or .pptx file is a ZIP package of XML parts defined by ECMA-376 / ISO/IEC 29500 (Office Open XML): document text and styles, worksheets and shared strings, slides and layouts, plus relationships, media and a core-properties part with author, dates and revision metadata. That is why such files can be read, previewed and converted in the browser without Office installed — and why their metadata deserves a look before they are shared.

The PDF prints the result Excel saved with each cell, shaped by its number format; formulas are not re-evaluated, so save the workbook in Excel before converting. Conceptual model

Frequently asked questions about Excel to PDF

Are formulas calculated?

The values Excel last calculated are written; formulas themselves are not re-evaluated. Save the workbook in Excel before converting so the cached results are current.

What about charts and images?

They are not rendered — this converter typesets cell values only. For a chart, export it as an image and use Images to PDF.

A very wide sheet is unreadable.

Columns share the page width, so 30 narrow columns get small. Choose a bigger paper size (A3), a smaller font, or convert the first sheet only and hide columns you do not need before saving.

Does it support .xls (Excel 97–2003)?

No — only .xlsx. Open the file in Excel or LibreOffice and save it as .xlsx first.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The file is opened and processed by your browser with WebAssembly and JavaScript; nothing is sent to Mutqan Soft or anyone else. Close the tab and the file is gone. Downloading the result needs a free account — no subscription, no payment.

What are the size limits?

Up to 250 MB and 2,000 pages per operation on a desktop browser, 60 MB and 500 pages on a phone, because everything runs in your device’s memory. The tool tells you before it starts if a file is over the limit.

Technical notes

exceljs loads the workbook in the browser; each cell’s value is rendered by type (rich text flattened, formula results used, dates written as YYYY-MM-DD with the time when there is one, percentages scaled, fixed decimals and thousands separators applied; currency symbols, literal text and colour or negative sections of a number format are not reproduced). The sheet becomes a table block; the layout engine sizes columns proportionally to their longest cell, capped at half the page, repeats the header row on page breaks and switches to landscape when a table has seven or more columns.
